Your volvo resovoir swap turned out great! I found a resovoir at a local dismantler and now I'm trying to clean it up. Your's cleaned up nicely, what did you use to clean it? The resovoir I found is a two chamber design and one side (opposite the filler opening )has black soot on the inside that is giving me fits Any suggestions? Cheers, Keith

I had the same thing. Here is what I did. I soaked it in Dawn dish soap for a few hours. After that didn't work. I was watching "Tank Overhaul".. They put the frame of the tank in this huge room and shot bbs at it to take the old paint and dirt off.. Gave me an idea..
I took about 50-100 BB's and poured them into the resoviour and sprayed in some brake cleaner... then just sat there and shook the thing for about 10 mins. Came out clean!!!

I just got back from a wrecking yard and picked up a volvo resovoir for the swap. Man was it dirty. I read your post with the BB's and brake fluid... WOW! That worked wonders! It came out so clean.
I put it on the car. I thought it would need a tie down or something, but man that fits PERFECT.
I should take some pics and try to post..

I just used Dawn dish soap and hot water. After letting it soak over night, I scrubbed it w/ my finger. It came out looking like new.
